Moore Encourages Slackers to Become More Active
With the one of the most historical Presidential elections in our nation's history quickly arriving, there has been lots of encouragement all over the media for people to register and get out and vote. Michael Moore, a controversially liberal film maker and activist, knows the importance of encouraging citizens to vote. Before the 2004 election, he toured the country, talking to thousands of college students and others who were normally apathetic towards politics, and encouraged them to get out to the polls. The recently released film "Slacker Uprising," documents his efforts. The film is available for free download at www.slackeruprising.com. Moore calls it " a gift to my fans," and adds that "The only return any of us are hoping for is the largest turnout of young voters ever at the polls in November."
