Is That Couch and Big Screen TV Halting Evolution?

For once, something on the 'ol internet has left me mildly blown away that is not Rick Atley. In yet another article from Gizmodo, scientists have found that our current technological ways have quite possibly halted evolution. It's a mighty big claim, especially in these times of "intelligent design" and eight new iPod Nano colors. But it's also quite logical; the shift from "survival of the fittest" to "survival of everyone," according to Gizmodo.

Is it true? We'll probably never know for certain, as evolution takes place after millions of years. But, who knows? Maybe we'll end up like President Richard Nixon in Futurama and see it happen before our own eyes.

Actually, I'll pass.
