Tim McGraw is known in country music for his chops and for his marriage with his wife Faith Hill. Although McGraw is famous in his own right, he is also the son of legendary Phillies pitcher Tug McGraw. Although they were estranged for many years, Tim has still paid salute to him, like in his song "Live Like You Were Dying" which wasn't written for Tug, but McGraw has said in past interviews how when singing the song he feels the connection with his father. It was also the winner for best country song at the 47th annual Grammy Awards.
Saturday night McGraw threw out the first pitch at the Phillies' game while throwing a little bit of his father's ashes into the ground for good luck. McGraw is known for his love of the Phillies, maybe him and his father are the best combination for the team to go all the way.
Maybe this is why Tim McGraw is able to keep coming back year after year: he has a love for baseball, he keeps putting out hit after hit, and he's got a beautiful superstar wife. Lucky man.
