Republican Group Puts Obama on a Food Stamp

Even though Americans have gotten over their racist ideals enough to let a Black man run for president, we still have a long way to go. Recently, an Inland Republican women's group released a newsletter depicting Barack Obama on a food stamp. The newsletter stated:

"Obama talks about all those presidents that got their names on bills. If elected, what bill would he be on????? Food Stamps, what else!"

The president of the group apologized, but there is no excuse for this. Her response to a flood of angry e-mails:

"I didn't see it the way that it's being taken. I never connected," she said. "It was just food to me. It didn't mean anything else."

"Just food"? How did it not mean anything to her? Those are clear and well-known stereotypes that she put on the food stamp. My feeling is that she knew what she was doing. It just disgusts me.
