I've never been a huge fan of Eminem, I thought he got too much press coverage and he played up his "gangsta" image much too much. I did enjoy reading the excerpt from the book though. It read like he was actually having a conversation with you, not just writing a book. Which is something that I would expect from Eminem. Rock and Roll Daily says that he doesn't touch upon all aspects of his life that much, such as Kim and his mother. I understand why he wouldn't want to write about them, but those are subjects which I would think would be pretty pertinent to get to know him and his life. Those two people played such an important role in who he is that it would be interesting to read more about them.
All in all, I think it would make for a good read, I don't know if I'd go out and spend $27 on it, but it does seem like it would be interesting.

I don't think he ever tried to be what rap traditionally called gangster. Quite the contrary, I think he went against that specific mold and that's what set him apart from other rappers at the time. He carved out his own niche and I think that had as much to do with his success as his skin color.
