Casualties Play and I Get Kicked in the Face

The Casualties
played at the Knitting Factory last friday, along with Pittsburgh's favorite hardcore band Caustic Christ and local favorites Absurd System and Guilt Trip. D.S.B, from Japan, was also scheduled to play but had to cancel as they were denied entry to the country.

Absurd System and Guilt Trip each played enthusiastic short sets to the lively, though somewhat small, crowd. When Caustic Christ began playing, the place went wild. A circle pit formed in the middle of the crowd, but broke down when people began rushing the stage and going around the circle in the wrong direction. So many people were stage diving that a bouncer came out just to keep the monitors from falling into the crowd.

After Caustic Christ finished, random sections of the audience would break out into chants, calling for The Casualties. They finally came out and started out with the crowd favorite "Riot," which sent most of the crowd into what can only be described as a frenzy. Some kid with foot-high liberty spikes was riding around on his friend's shoulders punching wildly at the air above him- there was no other way for him to exress his wild elation at that moment.
