After hearing that John McCain selected Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate I realized I knew nothing about this woman so I read up about her in a few different articles. The article I read from the Times was very interesting. It went into Palin's background, family life, and what it is like to live in the state of Alaska. For instance her parents found out their daughter was selected as McCain's running mate after they got back from caribou hunting. Caribou hunting sounds really cool. It was very interesting and made me feel like Alaska is a great outdoorsy place to live, but is very different from other parts of the country. I feel like the same can be said about Palin. Another article I came across about Palin discussed how her 17-year old unmarried daughter was pregnant. I'm curious to see how voters would react. I feel like many conservative people may look down upon this and may sway their vote elsewhere.
