There is a short but interesting piece on msnbc.com, FOR WEARY IRAQIS, U.S ELECTION SMELLS OF ‘HONEY PROMISES’ . In an Iraqi coffee shop the Democratic conevention is on the T.V. in the background but the patrons in the shop don't pay much attention. They are fed up with these politics and have little hope for change.
Everyday we are bombarded with covergae on the presidential race and we all debate amongst ourselves about which candidate we would prefer, and who would bring about the most significant changes. However, it is rare that we look at this campaign from a different perspective, from the view of someone not within this country but rather at war with this country. It is just another way that Americans seem to be sheltered in our nation's war media free bubble.
