New Paltz Tastes delicious!!

This weekend me and a few of my housemates went to the Taste of New Paltz food festival at the Ulster County fairgrounds. Its all of our senior years and none of us have ever gone before. Not knowing what to expect, we arrived very hungary and ready to chow down. When we walked onto the fairgrounds we looked around and saw hundreds of people and venders from all the local restaurants serving samples of food. The system behind the festival is you go to a tent and buy tickets which cost one dollar each. Then you are free to explore the different tents sampling food which costs between 2 and 3 tickets each restaurant tent. I ate things from chicken served over fresh corn and tomatoes to ice cream, and from shrimp pesto quesadillas to clam chowder. It was amazing. Not only do they have food but they also had a businness expo and arts and crafts fair. We pretty much ate until we were full, walked around the other tents in the arts and crafts section while working up an appetite, then ate some more. Out of all the places that we tried we all decided that our best meal came from Main Street Bistro located on Main St , in New Paltz. We ordered a wrap called the Rollins wrap. Filled with turkey, avocado pesto mayo and cheddar cheese, it was delicous. I definitly recommend getting around the the festival the next time it is here if you have not gone before. Good food, good music....what could be better.
