New Transit System for New Paltz
Most people on the SUNY New Paltz campus have a pretty tough time getting around the town unless they have a car, particularly the freshmen. However, according to this article in the New Paltz Oracle, this problem is about to change. SUNY New Paltz is planning to bring a transit system to its campus which will run 14 hour shifts, 5 days a week and will be free for students on campus and 75 cents for other passengers. The route will take students up Rt. 32 and make stops along Main Street, sparing them from having to make the long walks necessary to do their shopping as before. The system is expected to go into effect sometime this October.
