Milestone in Sports History
Last night marked a milestone in sports history as the Yankees played their last game in the stadium that housed baseball legends such as Babe Ruth and Joe DiMaggio. Their win against the Orioles raised the already high spirits as the last game came to a sentimental close with a speech from Derek Jeter crediting the fans for their success. This feature from the Times touches on the night's events, the stadium's history and fame, nostalgia of past Yankees, and an excitement for the future in the new Yankee's Stadium. Even if you're not a Yankee's fan, you can at least appreciate the importance of this memorable night.
