An american folk-rock duo called the Indigo Girls will be performing on Sept 24th at the UPAC theater in Kingston. Emily Ray and Emily Saliers got signed to epic records in 1988 and are still singing and songwriting as independents. I have never personally heard of them or their music but as i read on about them i learned that they are very popular for their music and have always been open about being lesbians which attracts a large gay and lesbian fan base. They were politically involved in supporting gay rights, native american rights, they joined a coalition against the death penalty and they were actively involved in supporting a better environment.
