Being at New Paltz has given me a better insight of my surroundings- the scenery, the buildings - and of course, (don't forget!) the lovely people that make up our student population. To be honest here, I can't help but observe people and what they wear. Whether it be the current trend or the fad that simply will just not die out, what lies in between is the casual (but dreaded) look that gets its own category: SWEATPANT. I get that you just rolled out of your bed that morning and you don't feel like getting ready, but at the same time, the other one-fourth of the population puts in that effort!
To possibly spark some inspiration, I point to
The Sartorialist, one of "Time Magazine's Top 100 Design Influencers." Created by Scott Schuman and based in New York City, the Sartorialist consists of style posts ranging from unidentified people to fashion-oriented celebrities. I personally think that the subjects being photographed have an exceptional and a unique sense of style, but check it out and get rid of those damn sweatpants!
