Not Too Mnay Problems
On Nov 4, 2008, in the early quiet of the sleepy hamlet of Napanoch, New York, working class men and women cast their vote for the next President of the United States. There were few complaints concerning the ability to vote. While media coverage showed Harlem, New York with voter lines rounding city blocks, volunteers at the polling site in Napanoch welcomed citizens by their first name and didn't bother asking for official ID. These folks had grown up together. Individuals drifted in through out the day, unhurried, to put their mark on history. The only complaint that voters did have, was that McCain's name was shown on three separate tabs while Obama's showed only twice. Third party candidates showed only once each and Chuck Baldwin's name was missing altogether. Which isn't such a big deal I guess, because in this country not all candidates are created equal. If you don't fall under the Democratic or Republican parties, fact is, you don't have a snow ball's chance in hell. Most people, thanks to the lack of media coverage, didn't even know Chuck Baldwin was in the race. So, so what if candidates are left off the ballot by ACCIDENT. Hmm, some democratic Republic we live in.
