Girls Talks on Girl Talk at Terminal 5

There is no doubt that Gregg Gillis the Dj known better by his alias Girl Talk knows how to get a party started. His concerts are know to be dance fest, crowds of people moving and grooving to his signature mix of raunchy hip-hop beats and rock ballads. I was lucky enough to score a ticket to one of his three sold out shows this past weekend. I had eagerly awaited the concert for many months, and it feels like forever since I purchased my tickets in late August. Finally the night of Sat, November 15th came along and I dutifully made my trek to Manhattan. I have to say, that after anticipating this event to long I was dissapointed. Not by the quality of the music or Gregg Gillis himself, but rather the crowd. To put it bluntly, people just weren't cool. As a 5 foot 2 person, I am easily overwhelmed by the sea of head and shoulders that block me in. That is bad enough, but it gets worse were all the head and shoulders are constantly pushing and shoving in the hopes of flooding the stage, causing a ripple effect of movement throughout the tightly packed crowd. Girls and guys alike broke out in full physical fights and literally stepped over others to get closer to the stage. I can't help but wonder if the celebrity crazed society we live in is to blame for this seeming need of the crowd to get closer to Gregg Gillis or if was just the copious amounts of alcohol and drugs that are always present at concerts. For my part, I was just there to dance.
