the daily show/obama

In last week's class, someone brought up the fact that since Obama is elected now, Jon Stewart may run out of jokes for The Daily Show because there isn't going to be much to make fun of. With jokes/spoofs/puns that comprised of the Bush presidency, the Daily Show now has to invent some new material that will keep its viewers' attention.

Several other satirical icons such as Saturday Night Live and the Onion are struggling to find good Obama jokes. This article from New York Magazine points out that Jon Stewart is now "hopeful and delighted" about the new president so a viewer wouldn't want Stewart attempting to make jokes. The article lists other things that Stewart can still joke about, including the Republicans or even Obama fans.
