As we all know, Barack Obama will be the the 44th first black president of the United States to be inaugurated in January of 09. Obama had 52.3 % of the popular vote while McCain had 46.4% and Electoral was 349 to 147. It was a victory celebrated all through out the nation.
When it was time to vote many people had difficulty getting their votes in. Some had to fill out absentee ballots because their names were not found amongst those registered, lines were extremely long and for many first time voters they were confused as to how to vote. Besides all these minor setbacks, everyone pretty much had the opportunity to vote at New Paltz Middle School.
After all the waiting and frustration of the long lines, everyone was extremely happy with the outcome and with the new changes that will be coming our way next year. Hopefully, our nation has made a turn for the best and we wont be disappointed.
