How much of an effect did pop culture have on this election?
I found myself wondering the above question at the end of the election. Whether it was Matt Damon's tirade against Sarah Palin or anyone of the numerous celebrities supporting Barack Obama, I think celebrities and pop culture played a much bigger role in this election than in ones past. Seriously though, everyone from Oprah to Robert Deniro to Jay-Z endorsed Obama. Who supported McCain? Barely any. Also, the call to vote by celebrities and on the internet and television were much greater than I can remember. At least it got the desired result.
