McCain's Drug Use Double Standard

Although this article was written in 2000 in the LA Times, it is very relevant to the current race for the Presidency.  John McCain, avid supporter of the war on drugs has a double standard on punishing the offenders.  Not only did his wife, Cindy, steal money from a charitable organization to purchase pain killers, but while addicted, she was raising her small children, including a newly adopted child.  

McCain is an avid supporter of the war on drugs.  Beyond the fact that his immediate family was involved with drug addiction, his wife was let off with no penalty.  Mrs. McCain did, however, enter into a diversion program.
