Punk Show/ Protest Unplugged by Police

There was heavy police presence at the Donut Social on Friday night, on the corner of 1st Ave. and 5th street in downtown Manhattan. The punk concert portion of the event ended up being cut short by police, who said the band, The Crack Rock Steady 7, had exceeded the alloted decibel limit.

Despite the lack of electricty, the show continued for another 10 minutes as a sing-along led by frontman Scott Sturgeon, better known as Stza (pronounced "stizza") Crack. Sturgeon was later arrested by police, possibly for throwing doughnuts at police during the concert.

I heard (from a friend who was there) that there were snipers on the roof during that whole thing.
