Palin On the Pulpit

This video of Sarah Palin speaking at her former Church in Wasilla, Alaska is pretty interesting (the NYTimes linked to it in the sidebar to an article on the Republican VP candidate's religious life that Amy pointed out, below). Check her comment around the 3:35 mark, where she describes the military's work in Iraq as "a task from God."

Should a candidate's religious affiliations and beliefs be considered in their run for office? It's telling that Palin, speaking to a huge mainstream audience, steered clear of religion in her acceptance speech last week. And of course, we've already seen the field day the media had discussing Barack Obama's affiliation with Rev. Jeremiah Wright.
