MIA...definitly not missing in action

So most people have probably already heard some of MIA's awesome euro-american ,electronic, world dance type music and you will only hear more and more of hear as she is definitly still on the rise. Paper Planes( her new hit song featured in the Pineapple Express trailer) is just one of the songs off her album Kala. Rolling Stone gave MIA a four and a half star review, saying that her album has "resolute sarcasm, a weariness and defiant determination, a sense of pleasure carved out of work -- articulated by the lyrics, embodied by the music."

Her lyrics say alot about politics and society...openly writing her feelings into her songs. She does this alot in her older albums, not so much in Kala, but it is because her father was killed as a part of a Sri Lankan terrorist organization called the Tamil Tigers. Kala is her mothers name... hence the title of the album.

I personally have loved her music for a while now, i stumbled acorss her song "Galang" and "Hombre" about a year ago while searching around i tunes. Good music for long road trips, or jamming out in your car with freinds.....definitly recommended.
