Subway Art

Artists and twins Doug and Mike Starn have been working on their latest work at the South Ferry station and will be opened to the public in January. "See It Split, See It Change" is a creative piece that features, "curved floor-to-ceiling glass walls laced with silhouettes of trees, a marble mosaic of a vintage topographic map of Manhattan, and other imagery drawn from nearby Battery Park." Their goal was to make the last stop on the Number 1 train a little more welcoming. They artists are sponsored by The Arts of Transit program of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. The Starn's are very excited about their work and look forward to it being there forever, untouched by man.
