The High Costs of Vaccines

Many doctors who vaccinate privately insured children are losing money when they perform the service and are thinking about stopping it. This has lead to many parents not getting their children vaccinated for certain diseases. This year cases of the measles have been the highest they have been in a decade, because parents are not getting their children vaccinated. Health officials are worried that this could set the stage for bigger outbreaks. With more vaccinations on the market than ever before, doctors not giving them to patients could really hurt. Gardasil, a vaccination for girls to prevent cervical cancer is one of the highest cost vaccinations priced at about $375.
