New York Music Festival Promotes Homegrown Artists
There's a new kind of music festival in town. For the first time on December 12, The New York Eye and Ear Festival was held at Vanishing Point in Bushwick. Creator Todd Brooks (who is also an artist and head of Brooklyn's Pendu Organization) decided it was time to support local bands, get the word out and help them get signed by record labels. Brooks hopes to continue to have these festivals every six months, one in the winter and in the summer and at each new festival, there will hopefully be a celebration of a band being signed.
